'Hand painted with oil on canvas, the image took some 214 hours to produce. Inspired by the folklore that surrounds John Lennon and incorporating some of the most poignant events and lyrics of his life, the image is not a translation of any one song but a combination of the subject and artist’s imaginations. The Madness… is a personal look at a life which may have spanned only 40 years, but one which has had a profound and lasting influence on art and the world we know today.
