The print features Sutcliffes Bass purchased from Frank Hessey’s music store in Liverpool in 1960. Sutcliffe was cajoled by his fellow art student John Lennon into buying the bass and joining the other Quarry Men. The print shows the guitar standing within a gallery, an image of Sutclffe hangs on a wall above. The streets of Liverpool are subtly overlaid on the guitar with Mathew Street and the Cavern Quarter clearly visible. The print features a compelling footnote below the drum, adding to the atmosphere of the piece.
