The Town Hall at the centre of this picture is Liverpool’s finest Georgian building built in 1754 the splendour of this building was a symbol of the cities success. Castle Street is one of the original seven streets of Liverpool dating from when King John granted the Royal charter in 1207. The current Town Hall, the third on the site is one of the oldest buildings in the city centre first built in 1515.
